American Heart Association EmPOWERED To Serve Contest Winner Jamie Burton-Oare
Filmmaker Jamie Burton-Oare was the winner of the American Heart Associations EmPOWERED To Serve™ (ETS) contest. MVAAFF Filmmakers had to create a pitch actively seeking to improve the health of their communities by addressing social determinants of health through film. Jamie will create a 2-3 minute short film of someone overcoming health challenges through a solutions lens.
The EmPOWERED Stories competition is a part of the American Heart Association’s, Take Me Home campaign which leverages the collective stories of our ambassadors, alliances and communities as catalysts to rally, inspire and spring board improved health outcomes.
EmPOWERED To Serve™ (ETS) seeks to put a community lens on health by meeting people where they are and educating on the social determinants of health (SDOH) and how these societal factors contribute to heart disease and stroke.
