Join New York’s Jessica Ann Peavy Gallery at the Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival for a conversation with Founder & Owner Jessica Ann Peavy, New York contemporary artist Guy Stanley Philoche, and visual artist and illustrator Charly Palmer about their latest work and the role Black collectors play in shaping cultural legacy. Centering ownership, preservation, and community, the panel will explore Philoche and Palmer’s individual journeys as artists, the stories held within their work, and the vital role collectors play in sustaining their creative practices, shaping history, and ensuring that our communities are seen, valued, and remembered. Moderated by Sidnee Michelle, Host & Senior Digital Editor, Black Enterprise. A collection of Philoche’s “Give Us Our Flowers” series will be on view at The Mariposa Museum from August 7th-15th.
